Bio

Lucas Giordano is a bassist, composer, and educator based out of New York City and Nashville, TN. As a young, up-and-coming artist, he has proven himself to be a promising creative force in both the classical and jazz worlds. Giordano has performed alongside world-renowned, Grammy award winning musicians, such as Rufus Reid, Melissa Aldana, Chris Potter, Linda May Han Oh, Ingrid Jensen, Alan Ferber, Mike Rodriguez, Benny Benack III, Sean Jones, Ignacio Berroa, and the New York Voices. He has also had the privilege of performing at famous venues such as Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Rose Hall, Dizzy’s Club, The Appel Room, Birdland, National Sawdust, and Rudy’s Jazz Room.  

Giordano was the bassist of the prestigious New York Youth Symphony Jazz Band for four years. While in this band, he was awarded the NYYS directors award twice by both Michael Thomas and Andy Clausen, respectively. He also recently released a full length album with NYYS titled “Lineage.” Additionally, he was the principal bassist of the New York All-State Symphony Orchestra and the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra. 

In the fall of 2025, he entered a new chapter, continuing his studies at Vanderbilt University’s esteemed Blair School of Music, where he would study with Joel Reist and Rob Linton. At Vanderbilt, he is a member of the Vanderbilt University Orchestra, Vanderbilt Blair Big Band, and the Vanderbilt Latin Jazz Combo. In 2026, he received a DownBeat student music award for Best Collegiate Large Jazz Ensemble, and released an EP titled "Sunrise in the Spring" with the Blair Big Band.
